Han-Ying Yun-Geng Kiao Introduction
Located on the southern side of Gugang Lake, Xiantai Mountain is one of the stone inscription sites written by the Ming Prince of Lu. The regent King Lu, in his efforts to restore the Ming dynasty and repel the Qing, stayed on Kinmen Island for over 10 years. The stone inscription, carved between the 6th and 8th years of the Yongli reign (1652-1654), expresses his sentiments and has been designated as a county historical monument. Today, the Han Ying Yun Gen Stele features inscriptions on both sides. Legend has it that the original stele stood on a slope and later fell, resulting in the inverted inscriptions. Later generations sought a similarly-shaped cliff rock to replicate the inscriptions, thus creating the current Han Ying Yun Gen Stele with inscriptions on both sides.
