Han-Ying Yun-Gen Rock Introduction
On the southern side of Gu-kang Lake, on Xiantai Mountain, is one of the stone inscriptions written by King Lu of the Ming dynasty. The Regent King Lu stayed on Kinmen Island for over 10 years in his efforts to restore the Ming dynasty against the Qing dynasty. This inscription, carved between the 6th and 8th year of the Yongli era (1652-1654), reflects his strong sentiments and has been designated as a county historical monument. Today, the Han Ying Yun Gen tablet consists of two sides with inscriptions. According to legend, the original tablet was erected on a slope and later collapsed, causing the inscriptions to be inverted; descendants then found a similar rock for rubbing, resulting in the formation of the double-sided inscriptions of the Han Ying Yun Gen tablet.
