Han Ying Cloud Root Sculpture Introduction
Located on the southern side of Gugang Lake on Xiantai Mountain, it is one of the stone inscriptions written by the Ming Prince Lu. The regent Liu Wang stayed on Kinmen Island for over ten years in an effort to restore the Ming dynasty against the Qing. This inscription, carved during the 6th to 8th years of the Yongli era (1652-1654), expresses his deep feelings and has been designated as a county-level historic site. Today, the Han Ying Yun Gen Stele consists of two sides with reversed inscriptions. Legend has it that the original stele was placed on a slope and later collapsed, causing the inscription to be inverted; thus, later generations sought out a similar cliff rock for a rubbing, resulting in the formation of the reversed inscriptions on the Han Ying Yun Gen Stele.
