Xiuyu Chixi Humo Washhouse Introduction
Humu Fish Trap is constructed from basalt stones in a curved shape, with shimmering waves resembling the eye of the sea. This beautiful arc quietly rests on the seabed and is only visible during low tide. The Humu Fish Trap is located at the end of the coastal intertidal zone in Xiaomen (also known as the western islet of Penghu). Between two stone embankments lies a heart-shaped fish trap house, where schools of fish swim in during high tide and become trapped inside when the tide goes out. Fishermen can then come to catch their haul during low tide; this reflects the wisdom of early Penghu residents. Note: This attraction is located on private land and property.
