Xiyu Chixi Humu Lake Introduction
Hulubu, constructed from basalt, forms an arc like the eyes of the ocean, shimmering beautifully as it quietly rests on the seabed, only revealing its presence during low tide. The western Hulubu is located at the end of the coastal intertidal zone. Between the two stone dikes on either side is a heart-shaped fish trap, where fish swim into the trap during high tide and become trapped when the tide recedes. Fishermen can then come to this location to catch their haul once the tide goes out, reflecting the life wisdom of the early Penghu people.
