Xiao Chi Reservoir Introduction
Xiao Chi Reservoir was not originally a reservoir, but a pond, which is also the origin of its name "Xiao Chi". Due to the natural conditions in the Penghu area, the development of groundwater has inherent difficulties and has already reached saturation. To solve the water supply needs of the residents, a small reservoir was constructed. Xiao Chi Reservoir was built based on the ten-year implementation plan for the development of Penghu's water resources. It began construction in February 1989, after the Chikang Underground Reservoir and the Wang-an Xi'an Reservoir, and was completed and put into operation in June 1990. Its total storage capacity is approximately 200,000 cubic meters, aimed at meeting the drinking water needs of residents in Xiyu Township. The reservoir was built in a low-lying hilly area between Dachi and Xiao Chi villages, located in a bay facing the sea. The catchment area is 1.05 square kilometers, with a normal water level of 14.2 meters, a dam length of 245 meters, a dam height of 17 meters, a full storage level volume of 130,000 cubic meters, and a planned annual water supply of 293,000 cubic meters. White egrets are commonly seen here, making it a good place for birdwatching enthusiasts. Behind the reservoir is a scenic area known locally as "Dream Beach," or Wang-an Beach. 【Recommended visit duration】 0.5 hours
