Shanli Station and Shanli Church Introduction
The small, seemingly isolated station is situated in a mountainous village with only around thirty or forty households. Rarely known to people, this mountain station watches as the express trains rush by each day. In the writings of author Liu Kexiang, it is described as a "legendary station that cannot be reached." The lonely and tranquil mountain station is surrounded by a few scattered fields. Even after the electrification of the railway, it continues to serve the few daily travelers. The island platform within the station still retains the style from before the expansion of the East Line railway. The quiet and simple atmosphere, along with the author's articles, has deeply attracted many travelers and railway enthusiasts to explore this beautiful little station. Nearby, the Mountain Church features weathered white stone walls and a roof adorned with a timeworn red cross, which reflects the passage of time. This small church serves as the spiritual center of the local community and, with the rise in popularity of the Mountain Station, the church has also become a sought-after photo spot for tourists, adding a lively atmosphere to the quiet mountain village.
