Wild Boar Garden Civet Coffee Introduction
In 1901, the Japanese introduced Arabica coffee from Java, and the experimental farm in Hengchun, Pingtung achieved abundant results in its cultivation. By 1912, it was promoted to places like Taitung and Hualien, and related companies such as the Eastern Taiwan Coffee Company, Taitung Development Company, and Kimura Coffee Taiwan Branch were established to specialize in developing the coffee industry in Taiwan. By the 70s of the Republic of China, there were nearly 30 hectares of coffee farms in Taitung, where simple coffee farmers adhered to the laws of nature and cultivated energy-rich coffee using natural farming methods, producing fragrant and mellow coffee. The ancient place name of the Puyuma tribe in Longguomai, Beinan Township, Taitung County (NADANAW) is rich in bamboo forests. Located in the Pacific Black Current area between the Central Mountain Range and the Coastal Mountain Range (commonly known as Jiugang Feng), when the northeast monsoon arrives in winter, the aroma of bamboo leaves signifies the ripening of coffee. The coffee farmers express their gratitude to the land and nature, sharing the joy of the fragrant bamboo and the coffee harvest.
