Dragon and Phoenix Temple Introduction
Longfeng Temple dedicates offerings to the deities such as the Master of the Ancestors, Xuantian Shangdi, Heavenly Mother, Jiu Tian Xuan Nu, the Third Prince, and Fude Zheng Shen, serving as a center of faith for the residents of Sun Moon Lake. Sun Moon Lake is known for its natural scenery and beautiful landscapes, making it an ideal spot for young couples to engage in romance. Thus, Huang Huo-shou suggested to the then Nantou County Magistrate Yang Zhao-bi to establish the Yuexia Laoren Shrine for visitors to pray and make wishes. A pavilion called "Yuexia Laoren Pavilion" was built on Lalu Island, modeled after China's West Lake; however, it was relocated to Longfeng Temple after being damaged in the 921 earthquake. Yuexia Laoren is known for being remarkably effective, and single men and women visiting Sun Moon Lake might consider praying there for love to bloom soon.
