Longfeng Temple Introduction
Longfeng Temple serves as a place of worship for various deities including the Master of the Ancestors, Xuantian Shangdi, Mazu, Jiutian Xuannv, the Third Prince, and the God of Wealth, making it the center of faith for the residents of Sun Moon Lake. Sun Moon Lake is known for its natural scenery and beautiful landscapes, making it a lovely place for young couples. Therefore, Huang Huo, a professor, suggested to the then Nantou County Magistrate Yang Zhaobi to establish a shrine for the God of Marriage, Yuexia Laoren, for tourists to worship and make wishes. Consequently, the Yuexia Laoren Pavilion was built on Lalu Island, imitating China's West Lake. However, after it was damaged in the 921 Earthquake, the Yuexia Laoren was moved to Longfeng Temple for continued worship. Yuexia Laoren is highly effective, and for single men and women visiting Sun Moon Lake, it is worthwhile to pay a visit to Yuexia Laoren to pray for love to blossom soon.
