Dragon and Phoenix Temple Introduction
Longfeng Temple worships deities such as the Ancestor Guru, Xuan Tian Shang Di, Tian Shang Sheng Mu, Jiu Tian Xuan Nu, San Tai Zi, and Fu De Zheng Shen, serving as a spiritual center for residents around Sun Moon Lake. Sun Moon Lake boasts natural scenery and beautiful landscapes, making it an ideal place for young couples to enjoy romance. Therefore, Professor Huang Huo suggested constructing a temple dedicated to Yue Xia Lao Ren (Old Man Under the Moon) to Nantou County Commissioner Yang Zhao Bi at that time, allowing visitors to pay their respects and make wishes. A pavilion mimicking the West Lake in China was built on Lalu Island for this purpose. However, due to damage from the 921 Earthquake, the statue of Yue Xia Lao Ren was moved to Longfeng Temple, where it is still enshrined today. Yue Xia Lao Ren is known for being very effective, and single men and women visiting Sun Moon Lake may consider paying their respects here to pray for love to blossom quickly.
