Longfeng Temple Introduction
Longfeng Temple is a place of worship for the deities such as Zushi, Xuantian Shangdi, Tian Shang Shengmu, Jiutian Xuannü, Santai Zi, and Fude Zhengshen, serving as a spiritual center for the residents of Sun Moon Lake. Sun Moon Lake boasts beautiful natural scenery, making it a popular spot for young couples to date. Consequently, Huang Huo Shou proposed to the then Nantou County Magistrate Yang Zhaobi the construction of a shrine dedicated to Yuexia Laoren (Old Man Under the Moon) for tourists to pay their respects and make wishes. As a result, a pavilion modeled after China's West Lake was established on Lalu Island for this purpose. However, it was moved to Longfeng Temple after being damaged in the 921 earthquake. Yuexia Laoren is known for being very efficacious, so single men and women visiting Sun Moon Lake might consider worshipping Yuexia Laoren here to pray for love to blossom.
