Awakening Temple Introduction
Built 13 years before the founding of the Republic of China, it was originally established by the residents of Puli to help a mother quit drugs by enshrining the God of War (Guang Sheng Di Jun) at home, hoping for divine assistance. After the mother successfully quit, many people began to visit, leading to the construction of a temple to enshrine the deity, initially named Kaihua Hall, then renamed to Xinghua Temple, and finally changed to Xingling Temple during its last reconstruction. At the entrance of the temple, there is a pair of stone lions, known for their majestic gaze and upright spirit. The courtyard of the temple features a small bridge and flowing water, along with a garden pavilion that exudes an ancient charm. Due to its elevated location, the temple offers a sense of overlooking the surroundings and is beautifully accompanied by distant mountains, making Xingling Temple a worthwhile visit.
