Church of Jesus Introduction
The Jesus Church at Sun Moon Lake is nestled among the trees on the hillside of the Hanbi Peninsula. Its Romanesque architecture, with yellow walls and white columns, embodies classical elegance, offering a stunning view of the Sun Moon Lake scenery from inside the church. Built in 1971 by former President Chiang Kai-shek and his wife during a visit to Sun Moon Lake for prayer, the church's outer lounge and dormitory were damaged and tilted during the 921 earthquake. The Sun Moon Lake National Scenic Area Administration renovated it in 2003, opening it for visitors and making it a popular photo spot for wedding couples. In 2017, the Jesus Church began management by a private company, reintroducing its traditional charm with a professional aesthetic for weddings and bridal photography, unveiling its mysteries to create a dreamy experience for travelers seeking happiness by the lake.
