Jesus Hall Introduction

The Jesus Temple at Sun Moon Lake is nestled among the trees on the slopes of the Hanbi Peninsula. Its Romanesque architecture, featuring yellow walls and white columns, embodies classical elegance, offering stunning views of Sun Moon Lake from the church. Built in 1971 by former President Chiang Kai-shek and his wife for prayer during their visit to Sun Moon Lake, the temple suffered cracks and tilting in the outer lounge and dormitory during the 921 earthquake. It was restored and opened to visitors by the Sun Moon Lake National Scenic Area Administration in 2003, becoming a popular spot for domestic and international tourists to take wedding photos. In 2017, the Jesus Temple was handed over to a private company for management, and with a renewed focus on wedding ceremonies and photography, it reveals its mystical charm, offering travelers a dreamy lakeside experience.
