Chao Wu Pier Introduction
Located on Provincial Highway 21, the Chaowu Pier is one of the four major piers of Sun Moon Lake. Looking eastward, it is a great spot to watch the sunrise. Due to the influence of climate, terrain, and hydrology, the lake often shrouded in mist in the early morning, with the dawn light reflecting in the mist making it even more enchanting. It is renowned as "Shuishe Chaowu," one of the eight scenic spots of Sun Moon Lake. This place not only serves as a pier for tourists to take boats and enjoy the lake views but also as the starting point for the large-scale swimming event across Sun Moon Lake, with the endpoint at the Ita Thao Pier, covering a distance of 3.3 kilometers.
