Zhaowu Pier Introduction
Located on Provincial Highway 21, Chao Wu Pier is one of the four major piers of Sun Moon Lake. Looking east, it is an excellent spot for watching the sunrise. Due to the climate, terrain, and hydrology, the lake surface is often enveloped in mist during the early morning hours. Under the glow of the rising sun, the morning mist becomes even more enchanting, earning the reputation of "Water Community Morning Mist," and is considered one of the Eight Scenic Views of Sun Moon Lake. This area not only serves as a pier for tourists to take boat tours and enjoy the lake scenery but is also the starting point for the mass swimming event across Sun Moon Lake, ending at the opposite side, the Ita Thao Pier, spanning a total distance of 3.3 kilometers.
