Jianjing Temple Introduction
The Land God Temple is located beside the Jiulongkou and the entrance of the Zhushiyuan Ecological Research Center. According to legend, when the Japanese built a hydropower project at Sun Moon Lake, local residents often saw a group of sparkling objects flying around in the sky. It was said to be the "Dragon Baby Silver" that lived at the bottom of the lake, which, disturbed by the project, migrated towards Puli. This area was where people first discovered the Dragon Baby Silver, hence the name "Jianjing." From a modern scientific perspective, on sunny days, the sunlight reflects off the surface of the lake, creating a shimmering, dazzling effect, especially from the location of the Land God Temple. At a glance, the surface of the water sparkles, giving rise to the name "Jianjing."
