Qingshui Rock Trail Series - Shih-Teh-Wan Old Trail, Central Ridge Afforestation Trail, Park Linking Trail Introduction
Qingshui Rock Trail System, consisting of the Shibawan Ancient Path (0.8K) and the Central Ridge Afforestation Trail and Park Connection Trail (3.0K), forms a loop trail located behind Qingshui Rock Temple. The starting point is near the Qingshui Rock Park Activity Exhibition Square, where people often engage in hiking activities. The Shibawan Ancient Path used to serve as a transport route between Shetou, Changhua and Mingtan, Nantou, and is also known as the Salt-Picking Ancient Path. The pathway features a surface made of earth and stone or wooden steps to recreate the historical scene. The trail is adorned with nectar-bearing plants that frequently attract insects and birds. In the 1940s, a private afforestation incentive program led to the planting of acacia forests along the Central Ridge Afforestation Trail. The entire trail is a scenic, undulating pathway that connects with the Park Connection Trail, linking the First Peak Platform, Second Peak Platform, and Third Peak Platform. At the end of the trail, the steep staircase at Qingtian Gang presents a more challenging ascent. Trail length: 3.9 kilometers. Walking time: 2 hours. Facilities include: parking (motorcycles, cars, buses), signposts, Qingshui Rock Exhibition Square, viewing platforms, afforestation monument, pavilions, fitness equipment, portable toilets, and mile markers.
