Qingshui Rock Trails - Shibawan Ancient Trail, Zhongshan Mountain Reforestation Trail, Interconnecting Park Trail Introduction
The Qingshui Rock Trail System features the Shibawan Ancient Road (0.8K) and the Central Ridge Afforestation Trail connected by a circuit trail (3.0K). It is located behind Qingshui Rock Temple, with the starting point near the activity performance square of the Qingshui Rock Scenic Area, where many people are seen engaging in hiking activities. The Shibawan Ancient Road was once a transportation route connecting Shetou and Tianzhong in Changhua to Mingjian in Nantou, also known as the Salt-Picking Ancient Path. Its surface, made of earth and stone or wooden steps, recreates historical scenes, and the nectar-rich plants along the trail often attract insects and birds. In the 1950s, a community afforestation incentive program led to the planting of acacia trees along the Central Ridge Afforestation Trail. The entire trail is a sun-dappled pathway with undulating terrain, connecting to various platforms: 1st Peak, 2nd Peak, and 3rd Peak through the circuit trail, with the challenging steep stairs at the end of the trail at Qingtian Gang. Trail Length: 3.9 kilometers. Walking Time: 2 hours. Facilities: Parking (motorcycles, cars, buses), signboards, Qingshui Rock Performance Square, scenic viewing platforms, afforestation memorial, pavilions, fitness equipment, portable toilets, mile markers.
