Xiaoganshan Mountain Introduction
Mount Ogasawara is located within Alishan National Forest Recreation Area, with an elevation of 2,488 meters. Originally named "Bansui Mountain," it was first surveyed by the Taiwan Governor-General's exploration team in October 1904. In honor of the contributions of the team member, Chiayi Prefect Ogasawara Fujirō, this site was named "Mount Ogasawara." In November 2005, a viewing platform on the mountain was rebuilt, becoming a popular spot to enjoy the magnificent scenery of Alishan. From the platform, visitors can gaze at the vast mountain ranges, welcome the sunrise in the morning, and witness the golden sunlight illuminating the peaks; in the evening, they can enjoy the beauty of sunsets intertwined with colorful clouds, with shifting light and shadows creating a picturesque scene. Additionally, after nightfall, Mount Ogasawara becomes a paradise for stargazers, with a starry night sky providing a refreshing experience. This century-old mountain, rich in natural beauty and historical significance, is one of the new eight scenic spots of Alishan, allowing every traveler to find a moment of tranquility and inspiration here.
