Saijia Community Trail Introduction
Saijia Trail is located behind Saijia Elementary School, with a total length of 2,100 meters leading to Saijia Airport. While strolling along Saijia Trail, you can often hear the calls of soaring Black Eagles and Crested Serpent Eagles. If you are lucky, the conservation-listed Japanese Thrush may join in with its low nasal sounds. You may even hear the calls of owls at night. At the entrance to the trail, Saijia Elementary School has constructed a butterfly ecological park, planting many host plants for butterflies as well as nectar plants. If you embark on a night ecological tour, you can listen for the ticking sounds of Little Rain Frogs, the gobbling calls of Moshi Tree Frogs, the chirps of Japanese Tree Frogs, the sounds of Ruddy Treefrogs mimicking humans using the restroom, and the calls of Pond Frogs asking for money. The collective croaking of these different species of frogs is lively and interesting, resembling a pastoral symphony. It is recommended to spend about one hour enjoying the leisurely experience of the ecological trail and its natural landscapes along the way.
