Saijia Community Trail Introduction

Saijia Trail is located behind Saijia Elementary School, stretching 2,100 meters to Saijia Airport. While strolling along Saijia Trail, you can often hear the calls of soaring Crested Serpent Eagles and Eastern Buzzards. If you're lucky, you might also hear the low nasal sounds of the endangered Black-faced Spoonbill. At night, the calls of owls can be heard as well. A butterfly ecological park has been established at the entrance of Saijia Elementary School, which cultivates many plants that serve as food sources and nectar sources for butterflies. If you embark on a nighttime ecological tour, you can listen to the ticking sounds of Little Brown Frogs, the turkey-like calls of the Formosan Tree Frog, the chirping of Japanese Tree Frogs, the human-like sounds of the Limnodynastes tessellatus, and the calls of the Marsh Frog asking for money. The collective chorus of these different frog species is lively and interesting, reminiscent of a pastoral symphony. It is recommended to spend about an hour to leisurely experience the tranquil ecological trail and the natural scenery along the way.
