Weiliao Mountain Trail Introduction
Weiliao Mountain Hiking Trail is located at the border of Sandimen Township in Pingtung County and Maolin District in Kaohsiung City, near Dazhu Bridge, with an elevation of about 1,427 meters. There are two trailheads. The first begins at the access road next to Dazhu Bridge, passing by the Jiyi Pavilion. Along the way, you can see the Laonong River in the direction of Liugui and the Zhuokou River within Maolin. You can reach an observation deck at an elevation of 1,150 meters, where you can enjoy distant views of Maolin and Wanshan Village. To reach the Triangle Peak, you must navigate a long steep slope that requires using a rope, making it quite challenging. The second trailhead is located at the 23.5K mark of the Shaxia Forest Trail in Koushe. Starting from the Shaxia Forest Trail, the scenery along the way is beautiful, and the plant and animal ecology is rich. Informational signs about the ecosystem are set up along the trail.
