New Wei Visitor Center Introduction
The New Wei Visitor Center is located to the north of Provincial Highway 28 at the 45 km mark in Liuqu District and serves as the administrative center for the Maolin National Scenic Area. In 2009, it was heavily impacted by Typhoon Morakot, causing significant damage to the Maolin National Scenic Area Administration and the two visitor centers at Maolin and Shih-dan Mountain. To ensure convenience and longevity, an administrative and visitor center was established within the park to better serve more tourists. The center features an accessible travel information service desk, diverse exhibition spaces, a multimedia room, a nursing room, a prayer room, a book exchange station, and charging facilities for smart devices. Notably, the beautiful and famous Kananga tree trail, nearly two kilometers long, is located right beside it, attracting seniors who enjoy leisurely walks, nature photography enthusiasts, and couples looking to take wedding photos. It is recommended to spend about 30 minutes to 1 hour here, not only to gather tourism information about Maolin but also to stroll along the adjacent trail to relax and unwind.
