New Wei Visitor Center Introduction

The Sinwei Visitor Center is located north of Provincial Highway 28 at the 45km mark in Liugui District and serves as the administrative center for the Maolin National Scenic Area Administration. In 2009, the center was heavily impacted by Typhoon Morakot, which devastated the Maolin National Scenic Area Administration and the two visitor centers it oversees: Maolin and Shih-pa Lo Han Mountain. Considering the convenience and sustainability of the location, an administrative and visitor center was established in the park to better serve more tourists. Inside, the facility features accessible travel consultation service counters, diverse exhibition spaces, a multimedia room, a nursing room, a prayer room, a book return station, and charging stations for smart devices. Notably, the most beautiful and renowned almost two-kilometer-long Podocarpus forest trail in Taiwan is located right next to it, attracting seniors who enjoy leisurely walks, nature photographers, and those looking to take wedding photos. It is recommended to spend about 30 minutes to 1 hour here to collect tourism information about Maolin and to relax while walking along the nearby trail.
