New Wei Visitor Center Introduction

The Xinwei Visitor Center is located north of Provincial Highway 28 at kilometer 45 in Liugui District, and serves as the administrative center for the Maolin National Scenic Area Administration. In 2009, it was heavily impacted by Typhoon Morakot, which severely damaged the administration office and the two visitor centers at Maolin and Shihpai Mountain under its jurisdiction. To consider convenience and sustainability, an administrative and visitor center was established within the park to better serve more visitors. The center features facilities such as an accessible travel information desk, diverse exhibition spaces, a multimedia room, breastfeeding room, prayer room, book drop station, and smart device charging services. Notably, the beautiful and renowned Podocarpus Forest Trail, nearly two kilometers long, is located right next to it, attracting seniors who enjoy leisurely walks, nature photography enthusiasts, and couples taking wedding photos. It is recommended to stay here for about 30 minutes to 1 hour to gather tourism information about Maolin and also to take a stroll along the nearby trail to relax.
