New Wei Visitor Center Introduction

The New Wei Visitor Center is located to the north of Provincial Highway 28, 45 kilometers in the Liukuei District, and serves as the administrative center for the Maolin National Scenic Area Management Office. In 2009, it was critically impacted by Typhoon Morakot, which severely damaged the Maolin National Scenic Area Management Office and its two tourist centers in Maolin and Shihfen. Considering the convenience and long-term use of the location, an administrative and visitor center was established within the park to serve more visitors. The center offers accessible tourism consultation service desks, diverse exhibition spaces, a multimedia room, a nursing room, a prayer room, a book floating station, and smart device charging facilities. Notably, adjacent to the center is the scenic Dalbergia odorifera Trail, nearly two kilometers long, which is renowned as one of the most beautiful trails in Taiwan. It attracts seniors who enjoy walking, nature photography enthusiasts, and those looking to take wedding photos. It is recommended to stay here for about 30 minutes to 1 hour, not only to gather tourism information about Maolin but also to stroll along the adjacent pathways to relax.
