New Wei Forest Park Introduction
New Wulai Forest Park is located on the west bank of the Laonong River at the 45K marker of Provincial Highway 28 in Liugui District, with an elevation of about 200 meters. It offers a view of the Central Mountain Range and the Laonong River. Originally one of the largest nurseries in Taiwan, it covers an area of approximately 30 hectares and focuses on cultivating tropical tree seedlings, with over 200 species, predominantly mahogany, bamboo, and cedar. The entire area is lush green in spring and summer, and there is a 2-kilometer avenue lined with mahogany trees. At the end of winter and the beginning of spring, the green leaves of the mahogany take on a reddish-yellow hue, creating a natural corridor with exotic charm, which often attracts couples for walks, making it a popular spot for wedding photography. It is recommended to spend about one hour here to fully engage your senses of sight, hearing, smell, touch, and thought to deeply experience the wonders of the forest.
