Xinwei Forest Park Introduction
Xinwei Forest Park is located on the western bank of Laonong River at kilometer 45 of Provincial Highway 28 in Liouguei District, with an elevation of approximately 200 meters. It offers a view of the Central Mountain Range and Laonong River. Originally one of the largest nurseries in Taiwan, it covers an area of about 30 hectares, primarily cultivating tropical tree seedlings with over 200 species, the most common being mahogany, bamboo, and cedar. The entire area is lush and green in spring and summer, and there is a 2-kilometer avenue lined with mahogany trees. In late winter and early spring, the green leaves of the mahogany turn reddish-yellow, creating a natural corridor with an exotic atmosphere that often attracts many couples for walks, making it a popular location for wedding photography. It is recommended to stay here for about an hour to fully engage your senses—sight, hearing, smell, touch, and thought—and deeply experience the wonders of the forest.
