Xinwei Forest Park Introduction
Xinwei Forest Park is located on the west bank terrace of Laonong River at the 45K mark of Provincial Highway 28 in Liugui District, with an elevation of about 200 meters. It offers a view of the Central Mountain Range and Laonong River. Originally one of the largest nurseries in Taiwan, it covers an area of approximately 30 hectares and primarily cultivates tropical tree seedlings, boasting over 200 species, with the most common being Khaya senegalensis, bamboo, and cedar. The entire area is lush and green in spring and summer, and there's a 2-kilometer-long Khaya senegalensis avenue within the park. At the end of winter and the beginning of spring, the green leaves of the Khaya senegalensis turn reddish-yellow, creating a natural corridor formed by rows of trees that has an exotic charm, frequently attracting many couples for walks, making it a popular spot for wedding photography. It is recommended to spend about one hour here to engage all five senses—sight, hearing, smell, touch, and thought—and deeply experience the wonders of the forest.
