Xinyi Forest Park Introduction
New Wei Forest Park is located on the west bank terrace of the Laonong River along Provincial Highway 28 at the 45K mark in Liouguei District, with an elevation of about 200 meters, offering a view of the Central Mountain Range and the Laonong River. It was once the largest nursery in Taiwan, covering an area of approximately 30 hectares, primarily cultivating tropical tree seedlings with over 200 varieties, the most common being mahogany, bamboo, and cedar. The entire area is lush with greenery in spring and summer, and there is a roughly 2-kilometer-long Mahogany Avenue within the park. At the end of winter and the beginning of spring, the green leaves of the mahogany trees turn reddish-yellow, creating a natural corridor of lined trees that offers an exotic atmosphere, often attracting many couples for walks and making it a popular spot for wedding photography. It is recommended to spend about an hour here to fully engage your senses—sight, hearing, smell, touch, and mind—and deeply experience the wonders of the forest.
