New Wei Forest Park Introduction
Xinwei Forest Park is located on the west bank terrace of Laonong River at 45K on Taiwan Provincial Highway 28 in Liuqiu District, with an elevation of about 200 meters. It offers a view of the Central Mountain Range and Laonong River. In the past, it was one of the largest nurseries in Taiwan, covering approximately 30 hectares, primarily cultivating tropical tree seedlings with more than 200 species, the most common being Mahogany, bamboo, and cypress. The entire area is lush green in spring and summer, and there is a 2-kilometer Mahogany Avenue within the park. At the end of winter and the beginning of spring, the green leaves of the Mahogany turn a reddish-yellow color, creating a natural corridor made up of rows of trees with an exotic charm, which often attracts many couples for walks and is a popular spot for wedding photo shoots. It is recommended to stay here for about an hour to open up all five senses—sight, hearing, smell, touch, and mindfulness—to deeply experience the wonders of the forest.
