Xinyi Forest Recreation Area Introduction
Xinwei Forest Park is located on the west bank terrace of Laonong River at the 45K mark of Provincial Highway 28 in Liugui District, at an altitude of about 200 meters, offering views of the Central Mountain Range and Laonong River. It was once the largest nursery in Taiwan, covering an area of about 30 hectares, primarily cultivating tropical forest seedlings with more than 200 species, among which mahogany, bamboo, and cedar are the most abundant. The entire area is lush and green in spring and summer, and there is a 2-kilometer Mahogany Avenue within the park. At the end of winter and the beginning of spring, the green leaves of the mahogany turn reddish-yellow, creating a natural corridor formed by rows of trees that exudes an exotic charm, often attracting couples for walks and making it a popular spot for wedding photography. It is recommended to spend about an hour here to engage the five senses—sight, hearing, smell, body, and mind—to deeply experience the wonders of the forest.
