Eternal Spring Resort Introduction
Location: Situated in the Xinfali area of Liugui District, Kaohsiung, 14 kilometers south of Liugui and 6 kilometers north of Baolai. Turn right onto County Road 133 at the Provincial Highway 27, 4 kilometers ahead. Bulao (the "Never Old") is named for its hot springs, stemming from the high temperature of the stream water throughout the year. Early settlers used the hot spring water for washing and referred to this stream as "Hot Water Stream." Later, villagers noticed that their skin felt smooth after bathing, making them feel rejuvenated; hence, they named the stream "Bulao Stream." Initially, hot spring operators built simple accommodations with wooden boards and provided hot spring water for guests, naming it "Bulao Hot Springs," which established its fame as the oldest and most renowned tourist spot in Liugui District. Bulao Hot Springs originates from a tributary of Laonong Creek in the Bulao Valley, composed of weakly alkaline sodium bicarbonate spring, with a water temperature of approximately 44-45 degrees Celsius, a pH of around 7.7, containing 1460 ppm of bicarbonate ions and approximately 593 ppm of sodium ions. The water is clear, colorless, and odorless, rich in minerals. Soaking in the hot springs helps to relax the body and mind, stimulates sensory nerves, accelerates metabolism, alleviates muscle pain, and improves physical mobility. Additionally, visitors can explore nearby trails such as Bulao and Mei Lun Mountain for exercise.
