Yongzhen Coastal Park Introduction
If you want to enjoy sand and waves during the hot summer, or leisurely and comfortably appreciate the Pacific Ocean and Guishan Island, a visit to Yongzhen Coastal Park can satisfy all your needs at once! It takes about three to four minutes to reach the park from the slope next to Yongzhen Temple. The expansive ocean view and the continuous sandy beach are the main features that attract both children and adults alike. The park is equipped with boardwalks and viewing pavilions, offering a distant view of Guishan Island, making it an excellent spot to observe the "Guishan Sunrise" during the Summer Solstice. The rare sight of the sun above Guishan draws many photography enthusiasts to come and capture the moment! The coastal vegetation in the area serves to stabilize the sand and prevent wind erosion, often creating a green dune during summer. Located between the mouths of Lanyang River and Zhuan'an River, this location is uniquely suited for bird habitation. Therefore, when you come here, you can not only enjoy water activities and the beautiful scenery of Guishan but also experience thriving plant ecology and bird colonies, allowing visitors to feel the pulse of nature. In addition to coastal recreation and natural ecology, this area also embodies local cultural sentiments, making it worth exploring. The nearby Yongzhen Temple has a long history and is still bustling with worshippers today. The temple is dedicated to the deity Wang Ye, and every year on the 15th day of the second month of the lunar calendar, a celebration occurs, including fire rituals and other folk activities, attracting many devotees to pay their respects, creating a grand spectacle. Moreover, due to Yongzhen's sandy coastal terrain, early fishermen employed the ancient fishing method known as "Qianwu," where they would transport fishing nets out to sea with boats, and people would work together on the beach to pull the nets ashore. This traditional fishing practice can still be seen occasionally, and in recent years, experience activities related to Qianwu have been introduced, allowing tourists to feel as if they have returned to the simple life of a fishing village.
