Yilan Coastal Bikeway Introduction
If you want to enjoy the coastal scenery that spans Wujie, Zhuangwei, and Toucheng towns, consider hopping on a bike and leisurely riding along the bike path between the river and the sea, experiencing the beauty of Lanyang in a different way. The Zhuangwei Coastal Bike Path, flanked by broadleaf forests and pine trees, stretches for 15 kilometers. As you look around, you'll see lush greenery, creating a tranquil atmosphere. There are many side paths along the bike lane; the right-hand side leads to the coast of Zhuangwei Township, while the left side leads to Zhuangwei Township settlements, where you may encounter a few bunkers, adding some fun to your journey. Throughout the ride, Turtle Mountain Island is a distant companion, with stunning natural views that refresh the body and mind. Along the bike path, you'll come across two scenic pavilions where cyclists can take a break and admire the coastal scenery of the conservation forest, gazing at the vast sandy beach and the deep blue ocean, accompanied by the continuous sound of waves and gentle sea breeze, resembling a tranquil seaside painting. Nearby attractions include Yongzhen Coastal Park, where you can play on the sand and capture the sunrise over Turtle Mountain, as well as Donggang Banyan Tree Park located at the estuary of the Lanyang River, providing comfort under the shade of banyan trees and the caress of the sea breeze. Plan a light cycling trip on a nice sunny day to rendezvous with Turtle Mountain Island and the Pacific Ocean, and enjoy the beautiful views along the bike path! *Note: Since the bike path and the paths among the forests are surrounded by dense vegetation, there may be more small mosquitoes.
