Tree Bank Introduction
On the way to Alishan Forest Recreation Area, you will definitely see a large wooden house in Fanlu Township. This is the Chukou Work Station of the Chiayi Forest District Office of the Forestry Bureau, which is also the only natural education center in the country with a tree bank, dedicated to preserving precious old trees. Each old tree has its own life story waiting for you to listen to. The park is home to over a hundred species of trees and butterfly-attracting plants from low to mid-elevation, with unique seasonal landscapes and ecological species ready for you to discover. The center is staffed with environmental education program teachers who specialize in outdoor teaching for elementary and middle school students.
