Fengshan Ecological Park Introduction
This park covers an area of more than ten hectares and hosts over a hundred species of plants, focusing primarily on natural ecology and adhering to the principle of preserving the natural landscape and ecosystem. As a result, many natural organisms inhabit the area, including the firefly season from March to April and the sight of stag beetles flying at night in June and July. There is also a fish pond surrounded by mahogany trees, where, in the evening breeze, the leaves of the mahogany and the century-old eucalyptus trees fall, beautifully complementing the sunset glow. The park is home to many exotic flowers and fruits, including a type of fruit known as "tree grape," which is the Brazilian Jabuticaba. Jabuticaba is native to Brazil and is an evergreen woody plant that bears fruit in the spring and autumn. The fruit is large and round, with an average sweetness level reaching thirteen to seventeen degrees, making it deliciously sweet. It can be fermented into wine with an alcohol content of up to forty-eight degrees and has the unique aroma typical of grapes. Since this tree grape is extremely rare in Taiwan, most people would mistake it for ordinary grapes based solely on its appearance unless they see it in an orchard. However, when tasted, it is fragrant and sweet, with a texture entirely different from grapes—refreshingly sweet and with very high nutritional value. In addition to the unique Jabuticaba, there are also tropical native plants such as rambutan from Southeast Asia, the spicy tree from India, Pacific olives, Mauritius guava, and powder puff flowers. With numerous tropical native plants, the future goal is to develop the park into a native tree species ecological park to promote leisure agriculture and tourism.
