Fengshan Ecological Park Introduction
The park covers an area of approximately ten hectares and features over a hundred species of plants. The park is primarily focused on natural ecology, aimed at preserving the natural landscape and ecosystem. As a result, many natural organisms inhabit the area, including the firefly season in March to April, and the display of rhinoceros beetles flying at night from June to July. There is also a fish pond surrounded by Mahogany trees, where in the evening, with a gentle breeze, the leaves of the Mahogany and the hundred-year-old eucalyptus trees fall, creating a breathtaking scene against the backdrop of the setting sun. The park is home to many exotic flowers and fruits, including a fruit commonly known as "tree grape," the Brazilian jaboticaba. Jaboticaba is native to Brazil, also known as the tree grape, and is an evergreen woody plant that bears fruit in spring and autumn each year. The fruit is large and round, with an average sweetness of thirteen to seventeen degrees, making it delicious and sweet. It can be fermented into wine with an alcohol concentration of up to forty-eight degrees and has the distinctive aroma of grapes. Since tree grapes are extremely rare in Taiwan, most people would mistake them for ordinary grapes based solely on their appearance if they were not seen in an orchard. However, when tasted, they are fragrant and sweet, with a completely different texture from grapes—refreshingly sweet and with high nutritional value. In addition to the unique jaboticaba, there are also rambutans from Southeast Asia, pepper trees from India, pacific olives, Mauritius serrated guavas, and various tropical native plants. To promote tourism and develop leisure agriculture, the future goal is to transform the park into a native tree species ecological park.
