Mao'ao Story House Introduction
Mao'ao Story Pavilion is a newly established recreational site along the old Caoling Circular Bike Path. The park preserves coastal native forests, traditional rice terraces, stone houses, and natural stone paths. Strolling through the park, the greatest enjoyment is to pause under the cool shade of trees, feeling the movement of the wind through the treetops and listening to the timeless sound of the tides from Mao'ao Bay. The Mao'ao Park officially opened on September 18 this year (2024). Upon entering the park, the first sight that greets visitors is the multi-functional shop at the observation deck. Climbing to the second floor of the viewing platform offers a breathtaking view of the pristine ocean scenery of Mao'ao Bay. Following the stone paths through the rice terraces leads visitors to see stone houses built using traditional techniques such as parallel stacking, random stone stacking, and herringbone patterns. Nearby, there are agricultural experience spaces, as well as a sunrise viewing platform to catch the first light of day. In recent years, the Mao'ao area has gained popularity for its delicious small squid rice noodles and hearty seafood porridge, along with local food vendors and snorkeling experiences, providing new travel options for visitors to Mao'ao.
