Tank Rock Introduction

Tank Rock is a rock formation located by the coral reef coast, resembling a tank with its surface covered in green moss. The rock has large holes that penetrate through it, and lucky visitors may see local cows and sheep wandering around, offering breathtaking scenery. The geology of Lanyu is primarily composed of andesite lava containing hornblende and basalt agglomerates, along with Pleistocene red soil layers, uplifted coral reefs, and Holocene alluvial layers, colluvial layers, and coastal fringing reefs, all shaped by the processes of coastal erosion and weathering, creating Lanyu's most interesting rock landscapes. In addition to Tank Rock, other famous rock formations in Lanyu include Red Head Rock, Crocodile Rock, Twin Lions Rock, Dragon Head Rock, Old Man Rock, Elephant Trunk Rock, Mother Hen Rock, Five Holes Cave, Yu-Nü Rock, Steel Helmet Rock, Battleship Rock, and Steamed Bun Rock.
