Fulong Mountain Trail Introduction
Fulong Mountain Trail is approximately 1,315 meters long and was the eastern section of the "Guanyin Ancient Path." Along the way, you can pass by "Kaisyuan Lingyun Temple" and reach the end of the trail at "Lingyun Zen Temple." Currently, due to the construction of Lingyun Road, the trail has been divided into two sections. The entrance to the first section is located next to No. 41, Section 3, Lingyun Road, with a length of about 400 meters. This part runs alongside a small stream, with bubbling water, lush vegetation, and a relatively flat path, making it easy to walk. The end of the first section connects to Hongxing Tujicheng (the first parking lot) and continues along the asphalt road (North 53-1) for another 700 meters to reach the entrance of the second section. The entire ancient path is paved with stone steps, and the greenery along the route adds to its charm. Towering trees intertwine their branches, enhancing the serene atmosphere of this hiking route, allowing many visitors to feel a sense of reverence and solemnity while visiting the ancient temples. Along the middle section of the trail, the classical architecture of "Kaisyuan Lingyun Temple" can be found. Continuing along the quiet path will lead to "Lingyun Zen Temple," which houses the "Avalokitesvara Bodhisattva with a thousand hands and eyes," the largest indoor Buddha statue in Taiwan. Behind the Zen temple, there is a flower corridor that houses the Avalokitesvara statue that once stood beside the ancient path. Originally, there were 33 statues, but time has passed and there are few of the old stone-carved Avalokitesvara statues left. The mottled markings on the statues themselves have become the best testimony of the passage of time. The end of the trail is located between the front and rear halls of the Zen temple. If you have good stamina, you can connect to the "Jianshan Trail" from here, continuing to "Eagle Peak" and the "Jianshan Mountain Range." Alternatively, you can choose to walk from the back of Lingyun Zen Temple beside Kaisyuan Temple to the "Yinghan Ridge Trail," and then connect to the "Fenggui Dou Lake Trail" to descend, completing a round trip of the Guanyin Mountain trail system.
