Hongtu Gou San Ying Qu L-36 Base Introduction
L-36 Post is located on the cycling path at the northwest corner of the Lieyu Township. Due to its location in the depression of the red clay coast, it is also known as the "Red Clay Ditch Camp." The camp is decorated with numerous life-sized soldier statues, including soldiers in training, performing pull-ups, and practicing shooting in a prone position. There is even a guarding dog on top of the bunker, allowing visitors to take fun photos with them. Additionally, visitors can enjoy a distant view of Xiamen and Shiyu from here. Next to the post is Cat Public Stone Beach, filled with track stones, providing a recreational spot for the public. During the period of cross-strait confrontation, the military assessed that the beach where L-36 is located could be a potential landing spot for enemy troops. To prevent an invasion during high tide, the military established a row of defensive fortifications here. The camp includes living quarters for soldiers and an ammunition depot, and to control the beach and sea, ten firing ports for infantry and machine guns were strategically placed, with a lookout tower and multiple temporary firing ports atop the structures. With its past military duties behind it, the L-36 Post has now become a well-developed tourist destination. On clear days, one can even see the popular slogan "One Country, Two Systems, Unified China" in Xiamen City from here. Moreover, L-36 is the closest point to Shiyu, so when visiting, don't forget to use binoculars to take a look at Shiyu and that special slogan!
