Haein Temple Introduction

Haein Temple, built during the Song Dynasty, has a history of over 800 years. It is located at the depression on the summit of Mount Taiwu and was formerly known as Taiwu Rock Temple. The shape of Mount Taiwu, when viewed from a distance, resembles a reclining hermit, and locals describe it as a place full of spiritual energy, akin to "an immortal lying on the ground." The Haein Temple built atop it is also bustling with worshippers. Every year on the ninth day of the first lunar month, known as "Tian Gong Sheng," residents of Kinmen bring their elders and children to the temple to offer prayers, making it a significant religious festival in Kinmen. Beside the temple stand bell and drum towers named Longlou and Fengge. The spring water in the temple's Moon-Dipping Pond is crystal clear and refreshing. The large bronze bell in the bell tower weighs over 750 kilograms, and it is said that its sound can be heard for 30 miles. The picturesque view of the hidden temple in the mountains speaks for itself. Visitors come to Haein Temple mostly to catch a glimpse of the stone gate inscribed with "Haimountain First" and the Anxin Stone, which is believed to harbor dragon veins and bring peace to people's hearts.
