Kinmen County Forestry Bureau Introduction

The Forestry Office located in Jincheng Township, Kinmen, is a green haven in the Kinmen area. It is said that Kinmen was once a land abundant with vegetation; however, during the Ming Dynasty, when Zheng Chenggong conquered Kinmen, trees were heavily logged to facilitate infrastructure development, which led to Kinmen becoming a barren land. In 1951, the government initiated a greening policy and reforestation efforts to improve the harsh environment, overcoming numerous challenges and establishing the foundation for Kinmen's greenery, thereby enhancing the quality of life for both military and civilian residents. Today, the Kinmen Forestry Office spans approximately 36 hectares and was formerly a seedling nursery under the direct jurisdiction of the Kinmen County Government, dedicated to the experimentation and promotion of agricultural crops, seedling cultivation, and livestock endeavors. The facility features a turf plaza, a tourist nursery, a flower garden, a water area, a specimen area, a forestry exhibition hall, a children's recreational area, and a barbecue area, along with a 500-meter long pine forest avenue, creating a beautiful environment ideal for families to enjoy and connect with nature. In addition, the Kinmen Forestry Office has many eye-catching art installations, such as a large wooden horse, colorful chairs, and a Dutch windmill, allowing visitors to take lovely photos with the surrounding flora. Furthermore, there is an indoor paradise for children - the Wooden Education Interactive Learning Center, nestled in the woods, resembling a secret base. This cozy space offers over 20 types of wooden board games and a large model of an ancient house for children to collaboratively build, enhancing their understanding of traditional architecture while boosting their focus through play!
