Kinmen Forestry Bureau Introduction
The Forestry Bureau located in Jinsha Township, Kinmen is a green attraction in the Kinmen area. It is said that in the early days, Kinmen was a land rich in vegetation, but during the Ming Dynasty, when Koxinga conquered Kinmen, a large number of trees were cut down to build infrastructure, turning Kinmen into a barren land. In 1951, to improve such a harsh environment, the government implemented a greening policy in Kinmen and promoted reforestation. After several failures and improvements, they finally overcame many difficulties and laid the foundation for the greening of Kinmen, improving the living environment for both military personnel and civilians. Today, the Kinmen Forestry Bureau covers an area of about 36 hectares, formerly a seedling nursery, directly under the Kinmen County Government, responsible for the research, promotion, and trial of agricultural crops, seedling cultivation, and livestock projects. The park has a turf square area, a tourist nursery, a flower garden, a waterside area, a specimen area, a forestry exhibition hall, a children's recreation area, and a barbecue area, along with a 500-meter-long pine forest avenue, all set in a beautiful environment, making it a great place for children and adults to enjoy and connect with nature. Additionally, there are many eye-catching art installations within the Kinmen Forestry Bureau, such as a large wooden horse, colorful chairs, and a Dutch windmill, allowing visitors to enjoy the greenery while taking beautiful photos with flowers and trees to create wonderful memories. Inside the bureau, there is also a paradise for children – the Wooden Education Interactive Learning Center, which is nestled among the trees, resembling a secret base. It offers a comfortable space with over 20 kinds of wooden tabletop games and a large model of an ancient house for children to build together, helping them learn about ancient houses and improve their focus through play!
