Kinmen County Forestry Bureau Introduction

The Linwu Bureau, located in Jinsha Township, Kinmen, is a green attraction in the Kinmen area. It is said that in earlier times, Kinmen was a land rich in vegetation, but during the Ming Dynasty, when Zheng Chenggong conquered Kinmen, many trees were cut down for infrastructure development, turning Kinmen into a barren land. In 1951, the government initiated a greening policy and reforestation efforts to improve the harsh environment. After numerous failures and improvements, the challenges were finally overcome, laying the foundation for Kinmen's greening and improving the living environment quality for both the military and civilians. Today, the Kinmen Linwu Bureau covers an area of approximately 36 hectares, originally a seedling nursery directly under the Kinmen County Government, responsible for the experimental and promotional research of agricultural crops, seedling afforestation, and animal husbandry. The park features a turf square area, a sightseeing nursery, a flower garden, a water-friendly area, a specimen area, a forestry exhibition hall, a children’s recreation area, and a barbecue area, along with a 500-meter-long pine forest avenue, creating a beautiful environment very suitable for both children and adults to enjoy nature together. In addition, the Kinmen Linwu Bureau has many eye-catching art installations, such as a large wooden horse, colorful chairs, and a Dutch windmill, allowing visitors to enjoy the greenery while taking beautiful photos with the plants and trees, creating wonderful memories. The bureau also houses an indoor paradise for kids—the Wood Education Interactive Learning Center, hidden within the forest, serves as a secret base with a comfortable space offering over 20 types of wooden board games, along with a large traditional house model for children to build together, learning about traditional architecture while enhancing concentration through play!
