Kinmen Forest Bureau Introduction
The Forestry Bureau located in Jinsha Township, Kinmen, is a scenic spot full of greenery. It is said that early Kinmen was a land abundant in vegetation. However, during the Ming Dynasty, when Zheng Chenggong conquered Kinmen, a large-scale deforestation was carried out to establish infrastructure, which turned Kinmen into a barren land. In 1951, to improve such a harsh environment, the government implemented greening policies and reforestation in Kinmen. After several failures and improvements, they finally overcame numerous difficulties and laid the foundation for Kinmen's greening efforts, also enhancing the quality of life for both military personnel and civilians. Today, the Kinmen Forestry Bureau covers approximately 36 hectares and was originally a seedling nursery directly under the Kinmen County Government, responsible for the testing, research, and promotion of agricultural crops, seedling planting, and livestock. The park features a turf plaza area, a tourist nursery, flower gardens, a water-friendly area, a specimen area, a forestry exhibition hall, a children's recreation area, and a barbecue area, as well as a 500-meter-long Pine Forest Avenue, creating a beautiful environment that is perfect for people of all ages to come and enjoy nature together. Moreover, the Kinmen Forestry Bureau also houses many eye-catching and photogenic installations, such as a large wooden horse, colorful chairs, and windmills, allowing visitors to take beautiful photos with the flowers, plants, and trees while enjoying the greenery. Additionally, there is an indoor paradise for children—the Wood Education Interactive Learning Center—nestled among the trees, resembling a secret base. It features a comfortable space with over 20 types of wooden board games and a large traditional house model for children to collaboratively build, helping them learn about traditional houses and enhance their concentration through play!
