Kinmen County Forestry Bureau Introduction

The Forestry Bureau located in Jinsha Township, Kinmen, is a green attraction in the Kinmen area. It is said that early Kinmen was a lush land; however, during the Ming Dynasty when Koxinga attacked Kinmen, extensive deforestation occurred to build infrastructure, transforming Kinmen into a barren land. In 1951, the government initiated a greening policy and restoration afforestation efforts to improve the harsh environment. After numerous failures and improvements, they ultimately laid a foundation for greening Kinmen, enhancing the quality of life for both military personnel and civilians. Today, the Kinmen Forestry Bureau covers approximately 36 hectares, originally a seedling nursery directly under the Kinmen County Government, specializing in agricultural crop research, seedling cultivation, afforestation, and livestock trials. The site features a turf square, a tourism nursery, a flower garden, a water recreation area, a specimen area, a forestry exhibition hall, a children's playground, and a barbecue area, as well as a 500-meter-long pine forest avenue. The environment is beautiful and perfect for visitors of all ages to enjoy nature together. Additionally, the Kinmen Forestry Bureau is home to many eye-catching installations, such as a large wooden horse, colorful chairs, and a Dutch windmill, allowing visitors to take beautiful photos amidst the greenery and create wonderful memories. There is also a kids' indoor paradise—the Woodworking Interactive Learning Center, nestled among the trees like a secret base. It offers a comfortable space with over 20 types of wooden tabletop games and a large traditional house model for children to collaboratively build, allowing them to learn about traditional houses and enhance their concentration through play!
