Beishan Broadcasting Wall Introduction
"Dear compatriots from the mainland, hello, I am Teresa Teng..." The clear voice of Teresa Teng emanates from the giant speaker at the Beishan Broadcast Wall situated on the Beishan Cliff. Along with the Matsu Observation Station's Matsu Broadcast Station, it served as a front line for psychological warfare during the Kinmen battle period, broadcasting news, propaganda, commentary, and messages to urge surrender in Mandarin and Hokkien. The broadcasting equipment used for psychological warfare was also a primary target during the war, thus the towering Beishan Broadcast Wall also functioned as a defensive structure to shield the broadcast station. The front consists of an array of 48 speakers, capable of transmitting sound up to 25 kilometers. Its unique honeycomb shape makes it a popular photography spot, whether standing beside the wall or capturing it from below the cliff! Broadcasting times are as follows: 09:00-09:30, 10:30-11:00, 13:00-13:30, 14:00-14:30, 15:00-15:30, 16:00-16:30.
