Beishan Broadcasting Wall Introduction
"Dear compatriots from the mainland, hello, I am Teresa Teng..." The clear voice of Teresa Teng comes from the huge speaker at the Beishan Broadcasting Wall, located on the Beishan Cliff. Along with the Matsu Observation Station's broadcasting facility, it served as a frontline base for psychological warfare during the Kinmen battle period, broadcasting news, propaganda, comments, and messages to persuade surrender in Mandarin and Hokkien. The broadcasting equipment used for psychological warfare was also a primary target for attacks during the war, so the towering Beishan Broadcasting Wall also served as a defensive structure to conceal the broadcasting station. The front is composed of a matrix of 48 speakers, capable of transmitting sound up to 25 kilometers. Its unique honeycomb shape makes it a popular photo spot whether standing next to the broadcasting wall or taking photos from below the cliff. Broadcasting times: 09:00-09:30, 10:30-11:00, 13:00-13:30, 14:00-14:30, 15:00-15:30, 16:00-16:30.
