Jia Yi Mulberry

Yunlin Foods

In the Tsai Song district of our hometown, Mr. Huang Cheng-Yuan has made the resolute decision to cultivate mulberries, as they are a nutritious food worthy of promotion. He has established a farm that embraces an ecological approach, using environmentally-friendly tarpaulins and avoiding chemical pesticides for pest control (by manually weeding and catching insects). Natural organic fertilizers are employed to promote the growth of the fruit trees, ensuring cleanliness in the environment and the quality of the fruits. With technical support and guidance from the Miaoli branch of the Council of Agriculture's Agricultural Improvement Station, he continually researches and improves new varieties (including Taiwan native species and new varieties such as the Black Diamond) and develops related products (including mulberry enzyme, mulberry acid enzyme, mulberry syrup, frozen fresh mulberries, mulberry leaf gummies, and mulberry soft candies, etc.). The mulberry farm is located beside the Beigang River in our hometown, offering a simple rural landscape and pastoral scenery, making it suitable for outdoor teaching activities for schools and guided events for organizations. It provides tree species and function introductions, seedling sales and planting promotion, as well as mulberry picking. Everyone is welcome to provide feedback and contact Mr. Huang Cheng-Yuan to make a reservation.
