Wendih Bird Watching Area Introduction
Wendi is located beside Beigang River in Shuilin Township. This area is close to the river's estuary, and the vast floodplains provide abundant food sources such as fish, shrimp, and shellfish, making it an ideal habitat for water birds. Several species of birds have been recorded in the Wendi wetlands, including the Black-headed Gull, Caspian Tern, Bar-tailed Godwit, Dunlin, Grey Heron, and Northern Pintail, among dozens of others, indicating rich birdwatching resources. Relevant authorities are currently planning to develop this area as a birdwatching theme park as well as a wetland ecological conservation area. Wendi, near the estuary of the Beigang River, is also in the planning stages for a bicycle path, and the surrounding area features painted patterns. In the future, visitors will be able to cycle or stroll here, enjoying the most relaxing leisure time.
