Wendi Bird Watching Area Introduction
Wendi is located on the banks of Beigang River in Shuilin Township. This area, due to its proximity to the river's estuary and its vast river terrace, has abundant food sources such as fish, shrimp, and shellfish, making it a suitable habitat for waterbirds. Several bird species have been recorded in the Wendi wetland, including the Black-headed Gull, the Caspian Tern, the Red-necked Phalarope, the Sandpiper, the Grey Heron, and the Pintail Duck, among several dozen others, providing rich birdwatching resources. Relevant authorities are currently planning to develop this area into a birdwatching theme park and a wetland conservation area. Wendi is near the estuary of Beigang River, and a bicycle path is currently under planning. There are also painted designs in the surrounding area, making it a great place for cycling or strolling in the future, allowing visitors to enjoy the most relaxing leisure time.
