Wendi Bird Watching Area Introduction
Wendi is located by the Beigang River in Shuilin Township. This area, due to its proximity to the estuary of the Beigang River and its extensive riverbed, offers abundant food sources such as fish, shrimp, and shellfish, making it highly suitable for waterbirds. Several bird species have been recorded in the Wendi wetlands, including the Black-headed Gull, Common Tern, Curlew Sandpiper, Dunlin, Grey Heron, and Northern Shoveler, among dozens of others, showcasing rich birdwatching resources. Currently, relevant authorities are planning to designate this area as a birdwatching theme zone and a wetland ecological conservation area. Wendi is close to the estuary of the Beigang River, and a bicycle path is currently being planned. Surrounding the area are painted designs, allowing for future cycling or walking while enjoying the most relaxing leisurely moments.
