Nine Birds Ceramic Workshop Introduction

In 2002, Teacher A-Liang established the Jiuniu Ceramics Studio in Chihlu, Taitung. The studio is named "Jiuniu," which actually deconstructs the local place name "Xingban," meaning "pigeon." The term "ceramics" aims to emulate the renowned pottery culture of Japan, such as Shino ware, allowing Jiuniu Ceramics to carry on the profound tradition of pottery making, just like these famous ceramic creations. In addition to continuing to delve into and refine artistic creation each year, A-Liang and Teacher Xiazi at Jiuniu Ceramics began their journey in ceramics education with the hope of cultural inheritance and exchange. Through various workshops and educational efforts in pottery, they opened the doors to artistic creation for the public. Additionally, year by year, they began to collaborate on projects related to life pottery, customized business products, public art projects, pottery courses, DIY experiences, kiln culture tours, and the development of handmade jewelry. Visiting Jiuniu Ceramics’ exhibition room, one can find beautifully crafted traditional Paiwan pottery, as well as small items from the "Chasing Deer" series, inspired by local names such as Chihlu and Luye, which are suitable for holding business cards.
