Qinshan Farm Introduction
Qingshan Farm is located next to the Guan Mountain Circular Bicycle Path and is operated by the young owner Lai Shan-neng and his father. Initially focused on cultivating Guan Mountain rice, they broke away from traditional farming practices over a decade ago to transform the farmland into a tourist farm, introducing strawberry cultivation from Dahu. This innovative endeavor was not well received by local farmers at the time, and the path of innovation was not smooth. Nevertheless, father and son, with their affection for the land, believed that Taitung's beautiful mountains and waters were equal to those in Dahu, and they persevered with the spirit of "Then why not?" It may have been curious to see strawberries in Taitung, so the strawberries planted at the beginning were often stolen. During the transformation of the farm, they also faced the challenges of directly engaging with customers and the necessary adjustments. The farm is still in a transitional phase, facing challenges such as crop destruction and the shift to becoming a tourist farm, but Lai Shan-neng and his father continue to hold on and work hard toward their dreams. = Slow Food Experience = Creativity and R&D Award in the 2014 3rd Individual's Farm-to-Table Selection.
