Qinshan Farm Introduction
Qinshan Farm is located next to the Guanshan Cycling Path and is operated by the owner Lai Shanneng and his father. Initially focused on cultivating Guanshan rice, over a decade ago, they broke away from traditional frameworks to transform the farmland into a tourist farm. They introduced strawberry cultivation from Dahu, an innovative endeavor that was not well-received by local farmers at the time. The path of innovation was not smooth, but the father and son duo, with their deep connection to the land, believed that Taitung's beautiful mountains and waters were on par with Dahu, embodying the spirit of "why not?". In Taitung, strawberries appeared quite rare, leading to initial instances of theft as they began planting. Throughout the transformation of the farm, they faced challenges in directly engaging with customers, and the farm is still in a transitional period, dealing with crop damage and the various difficulties of becoming a tourist farm. Nevertheless, Lai Shanneng and his father remain dedicated and continue to strive toward their dreams. = Slow Food Experience = 2014 Third Edition of the One-Person Table of Local Produce Selection - Most Creative Ingredient Development Award
