Hualien Port 1-1 Warehouse Art Museum / Venus Gallery Introduction
Venus Gallery, established in 1980, is the longest-running professional gallery in Eastern Taiwan. Over the years, it has actively engaged in public welfare activities related to local arts and culture, environmental protection, and community development. Since August 2005, it has been located in Warehouse 1-1 within the recreational area, working in collaboration with government agencies and private sector organizations to plan various events, including the 2005 "Art Together in Hualien - Steel Art Creation Camp," the 2006 "Stone Sculpture Creation Camp at Hualien Port," the 2007 "Collage Art of East and West: Hong Fei Na Fu," and the 2008 "Driftwood Life Aesthetics Workshop," which encouraged public participation in community art exhibitions with enthusiastic responses. In 2008, it also received funding from the National Cultural and Arts Foundation, Taiwan Craft Research Institute, and Taitung Living Aesthetics Museum to implement the "Great Beauty of Heaven and Earth - Art of Delicacies 1, 2, 3" project, dedicated to promoting the development and marketing of cultural and creative products in Hualien. Currently, Warehouse 1-1 is gradually enhancing its hardware and software facilities, aiming to integrate a gallery, a small theater, a local cultural center, a community arts center, and a café into a multifunctional operation, transforming idle space into a diverse performing arts venue.
