Hualien Harbor Warehouse No. 1 Art Museum / Venus Gallery Introduction
Venus Art Gallery, established in 1980, is the oldest professional commercial gallery in eastern Taiwan. Over the years, it has actively participated in public welfare activities related to local arts and culture, environmental protection, and community building. Since August 2005, it has been located in Warehouse 1-1 within a recreational area, leveraging resources from government units and private enterprises to organize events such as the 2005 "Collaborative Art Creation Camp in Hualien - Steel Art Workshop," the "Mini Stone Carving Creation Camp at Hualien Port" in 2006, the 2007 "Hong Fei Na Restitution's East-West Fragment Collage Art," and the 2008 "Driftwood Aesthetic Workshop." These initiatives have successfully engaged the public in community arts and cultural performances, receiving an enthusiastic response. In 2008, it also received funding from the Council for Cultural Affairs, the Taiwan Craft Research Institute, and the Taitung Living Aesthetics Museum to carry out the "Great Beauty of Heaven and Earth - Art of Fine Craft 1, 2, 3" project, aimed at promoting the development and marketing of Hualien's cultural and creative products. Currently, Warehouse 1-1 is gradually enhancing its hardware and software facilities to operate as a multifunctional space combining an art gallery, a small theater, a local cultural center, a community arts center, and a café, with the goal of transforming vacant spaces into diverse artistic performance venues.
