Hualien Port Warehouse No. 1 Art Museum / Venus Gallery Introduction
Venus Gallery was established in 1980, making it the oldest professional artist gallery in Eastern Taiwan. Over the years, it has actively engaged in public welfare activities related to local art, environmental protection, and community building. In August 2005, it relocated to Warehouse 1-1 in the recreation area, combining resources from government agencies and private enterprises to organize events such as the 2005 "Welding Together in Hualien - Steel Art Creation Camp," the mini stone sculpture creation camp "Traces of Stones - Hualien Port" in 2006, the 2007 "Flying East and West - Fragmented Collage Art," and the 2008 "Driftwood Lifestyle Aesthetics Workshop." These initiatives have successfully encouraged public participation in community art performances, receiving enthusiastic responses. In 2008, it also received funding from the National Cultural and Arts Foundation, the Taiwan Craft Research Institute, and the Taitung Living Aesthetics Museum to implement the "Great Beauty of Heaven and Earth - Fine Arts Project 1.2.3," aimed at promoting the development and marketing of cultural and creative products from Hualien. Currently, Warehouse 1-1 is gradually enhancing its hardware and software facilities, aiming to operate as a multifunctional space that includes a gallery, small theater, local cultural center, community art center, and café. The goal is to transform the idle space into a diverse venue for arts and performances.
