Meilun Black Tea Introduction
Meilun Red Tea in Hualien was established thirty years ago and is located next to the Meilun Market. It is one of the long-established shops that has been quietly operating in the area for many years. In the early years, this building also served as a department store, which led to it being referred to as the “Red Tea Department Store” by many old Hualien residents. After the second generation took over, not only did they continue to maintain the good reputation, but they also renovated it into the spacious shop it is today. The biggest feature of Meilun Red Tea is its traditional method: brewing Nantou County’s fish pond black tea using whole tea leaves. After infusing it with the shop owner’s unique recipe, it achieves a delightful balance of sweetness that is not overly sugary or bitter, with a rich aroma, which has captivated many people, leaving them wanting more! Of course, the shop also serves a selection of traditional breakfast items, such as egg pancakes, peanut soup, and almond tea, all of which are quite popular!
