Meilun Black Tea Introduction
Hualien "Meilun Red Tea" was established thirty years ago, located next to the Meilun Market in Hualien, and is one of the long-standing local shops that has been quietly operating for many years. In its early days, this building also operated as a general store, making it known among many long-time Hualien locals as the "Red Tea Department Store." After being succeeded by the second-generation owner, the shop has not only continued to carry on its good reputation but has also been renovated into a spacious establishment. The biggest feature of Meilun Red Tea is its use of traditional methods: the red tea from Fish Pond Township in Nantou is brewed with whole tea leaves. After being mixed according to the shop owner's recipe, it boasts a flavor that is sweet but not cloying, smooth without astringency, and fragrant, which captivates many customers and leaves them craving for more! Naturally, the shop’s breakfast offerings primarily feature traditional items, such as egg pancakes, peanut soup, and almond tea, all of which are quite popular!
