Kuo Tzu-chiu Music Hall Introduction
Known as the "Father of Hui-Lan Music," Professor Kuo Tzu-Chiu enriches the memories of many Hualien residents through music. To preserve important history for future generations, a Japanese-style wooden building has been carefully renovated and transformed into a music cultural museum that showcases valuable manuscripts, instruments, and graphic materials. Accompanied by the fragrant aroma of cypress wood, visitors can not only feel the nurturing atmosphere of the arts but also appreciate the resilient vitality of the old house. The Kuo Tzu-Chiu Music Cultural Museum is divided into two buildings. The first building mainly displays Professor Kuo's creative manuscripts, tools for repairing musical instruments, personal letters, and other precious historical materials. It also features a piano once used by Professor Kuo, and the display wall presents stories from his life, allowing visitors a glimpse into his early teaching methods and lifestyle through old photographs. The second building primarily serves as a performance space for artistic exhibitions and community interactions, allowing visitors to experience the essence of local music culture while adding a touch of classical elegance.
