Kuo Tzu-Chiu Music Museum Introduction
Known as the "Father of Huai-Lan Music," Teacher Guo Ziqiu enriches the memories of many Hualien residents through music. To preserve this important history for future generations, a Japanese wooden building has been carefully restored and transformed into a music culture museum that showcases precious manuscripts, instruments, and graphic materials. Accompanied by the fragrant aroma of cypress wood, visitors can not only feel the artistic atmosphere but also appreciate the resilient vitality of the old house. The Guo Ziqiu Music Culture Museum consists of two sections. The first section mainly displays Teacher Guo's original manuscripts, tools for instrument restoration, handwritten letters, and other valuable historical materials, including a piano previously used by the teacher. The wall exhibits share the life story of Guo Ziqiu, and old photographs provide visitors a glimpse into his early teaching methods and lifestyle. The second section serves as a performance space for cultural events and community interactions, allowing visitors to experience the essence of local music culture while adding a touch of classical elegance.
