Bawan Introduction
When it comes to the origin of Hsinchu Gōnggēng, it can only be attributed to Mr. Lin. Over sixty years ago, Mr. Lin's father was a vendor selling sweet soups and candies. When it passed to Mr. Lin, he had a brilliant idea to sell Gōnggēng. As a result, Mr. Lin's Gōnggēng became the oldest and most famous in Hsinchu's history. After decades of business, he still has not revealed the store's name, yet customers continuously flock to it. The Gōnggēng includes ingredients that the owner has improved and researched over the years, including fish Gōnggēng, coriander, bamboo shoots, and chewy fish Gōnggēng. There are two types of fish Gōnggēng, one is red and one is white; the different colors also mean different flavors, making it a local delicacy that you must experience for yourself.
