Kou Geng Introduction
When it comes to the origin of Hsinchu Gōgēng, it must be attributed to the legendary Lin Laobo. More than sixty years ago, Lin Laobo's father was a vendor selling sweet soups and candies. When it was passed down to Lin Laobo, he had the brilliant idea to sell Gōgēng. As a result, Lin Laobo's Gōgēng has become the oldest and most famous in Hsinchu's history. Despite being in business for decades without revealing the shop's name, customers continue to flock in. The Gōgēng includes ingredients that the owner has spent years researching and improving, such as fish Gōgēng, cilantro, bamboo shoots, and chewy fish cakes. There are two types of fish Gōgēng: one red and one white, with different colors and flavors, making it a local delicacy worth your personal tasting.
