Fish Soup Introduction

When it comes to the origin of Hsinchu's "Gou Gou Geng," it must be attributed to Mr. Lin. Over sixty years ago, Mr. Lin's father was a vendor selling sweet soups and candies. When it came to Mr. Lin, he had a sudden inspiration to sell soup instead. Because of this, Mr. Lin's soup has become the oldest and most famous in Hsinchu's history. After decades of business, he still hasn't revealed the shop's name, yet customers keep coming in continuously. The soup includes ingredients that the owner has researched and improved over the years, such as fish soup, cilantro, shredded bamboo shoots, and the chewy fish balls. There are two types of fish balls, one red and one white, with different colors and flavors, making it a local delicacy worth trying in person.
