A Cheng Hao Introduction

A-Cheng Restaurant, owned by Ye Rong-Jun, has a history of over 70 years in Hsinchu. At that time, many people gathered around the temple, including worshippers and street vendors selling medicinal plasters. Thus, the owner started selling rice noodles from an old pushcart at the temple entrance. The name "A-Cheng" was passed down from the owner's grandfather, who was known as "A-Cheng," making this establishment the original of the Cheng Huang Temple. Besides stir-fried rice noodles, A-Cheng Restaurant is also famous for its mixed soup and meatball soup, which have been sold since the great-grandfather's time, earning a good reputation. The rice noodles are handmade and dried in the wind of Hsinchu, giving them a special chewy texture. Coupled with the owner's unique braising sauce, which includes pork belly and garlic, it has attracted numerous food lovers, including former presidents Chiang Kai-shek and Lee Teng-hui, as well as Governor Soong Ching-ling and Wu Poh-hsiung, who have all visited.
