Warm Belly Introduction
In operation for 8 years and still popular, there's a brunch spot in Chiayi called "Nuan Dubi," which translates to "Warm Tummy." Although it's similar to the "Manzhe Die" Japanese cuisine restaurant in Taipei, it stands on its own. The owner, trained in the culinary arts, has a passion for cooking and hoped to open a restaurant to realize her dreams; however, her family thought starting a business was too risky and did not support her. Stubbornly, in 2014, she opened "Nuan Dubi Coffee" without her family's knowledge, making it one of the earliest all-day brunch eateries in Chiayi City. Instead of focusing on trendy designs, the space is simply clean and natural, and there's no set target audience. The owner says, "I just want to make the food I love, and if customers happen to like it too, that's great." The cost of their toast is about 4 to 5 times that of general commercial bread, and they lead the way by using hydroponically grown lettuce from Dalin. Focusing on satisfying customers with quality food, instead of flashy marketing, "Nuan Dubi" has remained popular over the past 8 years and is highly recommended by many locals for brunch in Chiayi. A quick look at Google reviews shows that the "Maple Syrup Fried Chicken French Toast" is a classic favorite among regulars, often selling out before noon, so come early if you want to try it.
