Shuxia Shaved Ice · Dango Specialty Shop's owner is a member of the Generation X cohort. He recalls that during that time, there was no Korean Wave, only enthusiasts of Japanese culture. As an adult, he visited Japan 13 times in 10 years, with a lasting memory of enjoying traditional dango in the old streets of Kyoto and Nara. After returning to Taiwan, he tried various restaurants offering dango, but the texture was similar to "mochi" Taiwanese glutinous rice balls. He decided to give it a try himself! By consulting Japanese friends and constantly experimenting, he found the best ratio of long-grain rice mixed with glutinous rice, paired with his specially crafted sauces, and finally achieved the taste of Japanese dango he remembered. In addition to the classic soy sauce flavor, he also developed a seasonal fruit series, surprisingly discovering that peaches and Japanese dango make a great pairing. Shuxia Shaved Ice boasts its Japanese DNA, evoking travel memories: the blue sky over Mount Fuji, the Uji Kintoki in Kyoto, the thick milk roasted tea in Nara, the chocolate milk flavor in Tokyo, the fragrant lemon in Hiroshima, and even the dark grass from the eerie island of Onigashima... coupled with the seasonally changing scene design at the entrance, recreating the Japanese scenes from his memories.
