Yam and Sweet Potato Tea House Introduction
The Shuchi Road in front of the Shengping Theater in Jiufen is an important pedestrian walkway in Jiufen and is also one of the main scenes of the film "A City of Sadness." Therefore, it gets very crowded and lively on holidays. Along both sides of the stairs, tea houses naturally gather, among which "Yuzai Banshu" is a very special old tea house. Its entrance resembles a cave tunnel, and the interior showcases the traditional buildings of the Jiufen mountain town, with the owner collecting many antiques that exude a strong nostalgic atmosphere. Since Shuchi Road is a stepped pathway, the tea houses have been built successively along the slope, allowing visitors inside to enjoy beautiful mountain and sea views. The owner offers Jiufen specialty purple sweet potatoes, which are rich and soft in texture. Additionally, the shop serves local dishes such as mapo tofu and stir-fried mountain pork, making patrons feel a sense of familiarity.
