Shengming Temple primarily worships Guansheng Dijun (Lord Guan). It was initially established in a private residence in Jinshan District during the early years of the Guangxu era. In 1936 (Showa 11), the statue of Guansheng Dijun was moved to Lunzitian in Jiufen. In 1948 (the 37th year of the Republic of China), the establishment of Quanzhong Hall took place at the original site, co-worshiping Fuyou Dijun, Siming Zhenjun, Huoluo Lingguan, and Wumu Dijun, collectively known as the Five Sheng En Zhulun. It wasn't until 1950 (the 39th year of the Republic of China) that the temple was built at its current location, and the following year Quanzhong Hall was relocated to the new site. In 1976 (the 65th year of the Republic of China), it was renamed Shengming Temple. Due to its high elevation, the temple's front platform is exceptionally spacious, providing not only a beautiful view of the temple itself but also a panoramic view of the natural landscape of Ruibin coastal area. Shengming Temple serves as the center for various activities in Jiufen, and every year, the Mazu procession starts and ends at Shengming Temple.

Sheng Ming Temple Introduction

Shengming Temple primarily worships Guan Sheng Di Jun. It was initially established in a private residence in the Jinshan District during the early Guangxu period. In 1936 (Showa 11), the statue of Guan Sheng Di Jun was moved to Lunzi Ding in Jiufen. In 1948 (the 37th year of the Republic of China), the Quanzhong Hall was established at the original site, co-worshiping Fu You Di Jun, Si Ming Zhen Jun, Huo Luo Ling Guan, and Wu Mu Di Jun, collectively referred to as the Five Sheng En Zhu Gong. It wasn't until 1950 (the 39th year of the Republic of China) that the temple was built at its current location, and the following year, Quanzhong Hall was relocated to the new site. In 1976 (the 65th year of the Republic of China), it was renamed Shengming Temple. Due to its elevated position, the spacious platform in front of the temple allows for appreciation of the temple's beauty as well as the natural scenery of the Ruibin coastal area. Shengming Temple serves as the focal point of various activities in Jiufen, making it the starting and ending point for the annual Mazu procession.
