Yun Dun Gen Soup Introduction
A legendary high-end health food restaurant that has only served one soup for decades, the name "Yun Dun Gen" is sure to pique many people's curiosity. "Yun" refers to operation, "Dun" signifies the unhealthy aspects within the body, and "Gen" represents nurturing one's foundation and regenerative ability. Pronounced in Taiwanese, these three characters convey a similar meaning. Dining here is quite special: on an empty stomach, customers first drink three bowls of soup. After drinking the soup, the reactions based on absorbed medicinal effects can indicate the customer's health condition—healthy individuals may feel hunger, while those with excessive liver fire may feel nauseous. Each person's reaction is different, and the restaurant has thoughtfully designed an elegant and comfortable space for guests to rest. To enjoy this soup, reservations are required; each pot is made by simmering 50 precious medicinal ingredients with rice wine for 8 hours, followed by half an hour of boiling with black-boned chicken to extract its essence. Being able to taste it is truly a blessing.
