The legendary culinary restaurant that has been serving a single pot of soup for decades, "Yun Dun Gen," surely piques the curiosity of many. "Yun" refers to operation, "Dun" refers to the unhealthy aspects within the body, and "Gen" signifies strengthening one's foundation and regenerative capabilities. When pronounced in Taiwanese, these three characters carry the same meaning. Dining here is unique; guests first drink three bowls of soup on an empty stomach. Following this, the reactions generated from absorbing the medicinal properties can determine one’s health condition. A healthy person may feel hungry, while someone with excess liver heat may feel nauseous. Everyone reacts differently, so the restaurant has thoughtfully designed an elegant and comfortable space for guests to rest. To enjoy this soup, reservations are required. Each pot is simmered for 8 hours with 50 types of precious herbs and rice wine, then the essence extracted from black-boned chicken is added and simmered for an additional half hour. Being able to taste it is a blessing.
