Bulau Kitchen Introduction
The name "Bu Lao" is derived from the owner's Western name "Bruce." The restaurant primarily offers Western vegetarian cuisine and features live performances on weekdays, fully showcasing the essence of a slow-paced lifestyle. Pizza and vegetarian dishes are the specialties here, but the pesto pasta and baked rice dishes are also very popular. The chef recommends the Margherita pizza, the oil and vinegar mushrooms, and the Hungarian fried potatoes as must-try dishes. Among them, the Hungarian fried potatoes are made by first boiling the potatoes until they're partially cooked, then frying them over low heat until they are crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. Afterward, onions, minced garlic, and bay leaves are sautéed until fragrant, then black pepper and Hungarian paprika are added, resulting in a complex yet delicious flavor. Another signature dish, the oil and vinegar mushrooms, uses high-quality mushrooms sautéed with garlic and seasoned with aged vinegar, making it both tasty and healthful, a must-try for many aficionados of healthy vegetarian cuisine.
