Bulao Kitchen Introduction
The name "Bulao" comes from the owner's English name, "Bruce." The restaurant primarily offers Western-style vegetarian cuisine and features live performances on weekdays, emphasizing a leisurely dining experience. Pizzas and vegetarian dishes are the restaurant's signatures, though the pesto pasta and baked rice are also very popular. The chef suggests that the must-try dishes include the Margherita pizza, vinegar and garlic mushrooms, and Hungarian roasted potatoes. The Hungarian roasted potatoes are prepared by cutting the potatoes into chunks, boiling them until they're about 60% cooked, and then frying them over low heat to achieve a crispy exterior and soft interior. After that, onions, minced garlic, and bay leaves are sautéed, and then black pepper and Hungarian paprika are added, creating a complex yet astonishing flavor. Another signature dish, the vinegar and garlic mushrooms, uses high-quality mushrooms sautéed with garlic, then seasoned with aged vinegar, making it both delicious and healthy—a favorite among many food enthusiasts.
