Erbazi Botanical Garden Introduction
The Erbaizi Botanical Garden boasts a unique ecosystem where natural forest belts and secondary forest belts coexist, primarily featuring trees, shrubs, and flowering plants. The park is not only spacious and lush but also includes several hiking trails, a central square, a management center, and a sports area, showcasing the rich environment within. It is home to interesting plants such as "Jiangmou" and "boar meat" waiting to be explored. This makes it an ideal destination for a getaway from the bustling city, especially for friends and family on weekends, allowing visitors to experience the beauty of the mountains and forests. The Erbaizi site, situated on the Shitan Mountain in the Ankeng area, derives its name from the local topography. According to legend, ancestors would look down from high above and observe that the gentle hills in the valley resembled the shape of the number eight and an upside-down eight, combined to form "Erba" (meaning 28 in Mandarin). It is adjacent to several large mountainous communities such as Daguan Township, Rose Chinatown, and Taipei Little City. Covering an area of 150 hectares, a morning walk in the mountains of Erbaizi refreshes the spirit with aromatic phytoncides. The well-paved hiking trails along the Erbaizi River are easy to traverse and include family-friendly paths, cherry blossom trails, miscanthus trails, Lycopodium trails, bamboo trails, tung oil tree trails, and butterfly trails, all featuring multiple plant explanation boards for further learning about the plant world. The Ankeng Light Rail's shuttle service is now in operation, making public transportation more convenient. After the opening of the Ankeng Light Rail, it is easier to visit the Erbaizi Botanical Garden, with options to take the light rail to "Gengshin Ankang Hospital Station" and transfer to bus route 839 or transfer to the Ankeng Line 1 shuttle bus at "Taipei Little City Station." You will arrive at the Erbaizi Botanical Garden in about 10-15 minutes, allowing you to begin a leisurely ecological journey!
