Meilu Workshop Introduction
Teacher Shen Meilu said: "My workshop was originally going to be named after my father's name 'Basang', partly because my father passed away a long time ago, and partly because during the process of learning weaving, there were several times I wanted to give up, but it seemed that my father was silently encouraging me not to give up, which allowed me to persist until today. To commemorate my father, I applied to the New Taipei City Government at the time, and I felt very disappointed when I heard that the name 'Basang' had already been registered. Later, I heard someone suggest using my name 'Meilu' phonetically, and because my workshop faces the Nanshi River, which Chinese people often say 'water brings prosperity', I added the 'water' component and found the name 'Meilu' to use."
