Gua Gua Garden Sweet Potato Ecological Story Museum (Tourist Factory) Introduction
Xinhua District is located south of the Tropic of Cancer and is rich in agricultural resources, particularly known for sweet potatoes, bamboo shoots, and pineapples. The Xinhua District Office has named these three agricultural products the “Three Treasures of Xinhua.” Historically, sweet potatoes were primarily used as feed, but the climate, geology, and farming techniques in Xinhua make it an ideal place for cultivation. To revitalize the reputation of the "Sweet Potato Kingdom," the Xinhua District Farmers' Association assisted farmers in establishing a sweet potato production and marketing class 16 years ago, launching the "Guaguayuan" sweet potato culinary brand. This brand has developed nearly twenty products from the basic sweet potato fries, including traditional flavors that also offer convenience, such as the frozen baked sweet potato, which is soft, fragrant, and chewy, making it a delightful treat whether eaten cold or hot. Adding milk makes it an excellent breakfast choice and is the best-selling product. Other offerings include sweet potato popsicles, golden sweet potato balls, sweet potato bamboo shoot buns, pearl balls, and black golden sweet potatoes.
