Chen Yun Bao Quan Ziyou Road Main Store, a century-old establishment, innovates again. The first generation, Mr. Chen Yun, sold pastries on Triangle Street in Fengyuan during the Japanese colonial era. In 1943, the second generation, Mr. Chen Jin Quan, introduced hand-made daifuku, which became immensely popular due to its craftsmanship and authentic taste. Mr. Chen Jin Quan established "Bao Quan Confectionery" in Tokyo, marking the origin of Bao Quan. In 1975, the main store was founded on Zhongzheng Road in Fengyuan's pastry street, operated by the third generation, Mr. Chen Zeng Xiong. He combined traditional Taiwanese and Japanese baking methods, improving traditional mooncakes and successfully developing new products like mini mooncakes and salted egg yolk pastries, which quickly gained fame. The fourth generation, Mr. Chen Kun Hong, further developed exclusive products such as Lu Zhi Guo and Ri Yue Shao, reaching new heights in confectionery skills. Over the years, it has won numerous gold medals in food evaluations and awards for distinctive shops in Taichung. In 2013, the original name "Bao Quan" was updated to "Chen Yun Bao Quan," incorporating the name of the first generation to express gratitude for its roots and cultural heritage. The fourth-generation heir, Mr. Chen Kun Hong, studied pastry techniques in Japan and, combined with generations of advanced skills, has become a master of pastries, continuously adapting to the trends of the times.
