Chen Yun Baoquan Ziyou Road Headquarters, a century-old establishment, continues to innovate. During the Japanese colonial period, the first generation, Mr. Chen Yun, sold pastries on Sanjiao Street in the current urban area of Fengyuan. In 1943, Mr. Chen Jinquan, the second generation, gained popularity for his handmade mochi produced in Japan, which had a solid flavor and craftsmanship. He established Baoquan Confectionery in Tokyo, marking the origin of Baoquan. In 1975, the Baoquan headquarters was established on Zhongzheng Road in Fengyuan's pastry street, operated by the third generation, Mr. Chen Zengxiong. He combined traditional Taiwanese and Japanese baking methods, improving traditional mooncakes and successfully developing mini mooncakes and salted egg yolk pastries, which became a sensation. The fourth generation, Mr. Chen Kunhong, continued to develop unique products, such as Lu Zhi Guo and Ri Yue Shao, reaching new heights in pastry-making skills. Over the years, the establishment has received numerous gold medals in food evaluations and other awards, including the Taichung Specialty Store Award. In 2013, the original name Baoquan was modified to include the first generation's name, becoming Chen Yun Baoquan. This change expresses the legacy of techniques and cultural transmission, emphasizing remembering the source of their craft. The fourth-generation heir, Mr. Chen Kunhong, studied pastry techniques in Japan, and with the inheritance of profound skills passed down through generations, he has become a master pastry expert, continuously adapting to the trends of the times.
