Chen Yun Baoquan - Main Store Introduction
Chen Yun Baoquan Ziyou Road Main Store is a century-old establishment that redefines innovation. The first-generation Chen Yun began selling pastries on Sanjiao Street in Fengyuan during the Japanese colonial era. In 1943, the second-generation Chen Jinquan gained popularity with handmade daifuku mochi made in Japan, known for their craftsmanship and authentic flavors. Mr. Chen Jinquan established the "Baoquan Confectionery" in Tokyo, creating the origin of Baoquan. In 1975, the Baoquan Main Store was established on Zhongzheng Road in Fengyuan by the third-generation Chen Zengxiong, who combined traditional Taiwanese and Japanese baking methods, successfully refining traditional mooncakes into mini mooncakes and egg yolk pastries, which gained immediate fame. The fourth-generation Chen Kunhong continued to develop unique products such as Luzhiguo and Rihuo, reaching new heights in pastry-making skills. Over the years, the store has received numerous gold medal awards for excellence in food evaluation, as well as special store awards in Taichung, among others. In 2013, the name of the original Baoquan store was changed to "Chen Yun Baoquan," adding the name of the first generation to express gratitude and the continuity of skills and culture. The fourth-generation successor, Chen Kunhong, studied pastry techniques in Japan and, combined with the profound skills passed down through generations, has become a master in pastry-making, constantly adapting to the pulse of the times.
