To meet the demands of the devotees and locals who visit the Dajia Mazu Temple during worship, Yu Jan Hsin replaced the traditional lard pastry recipe with a formulation using natural butter, which not only led to the celebrated "Butter Puff Pastry" of today but also earned Yu Jan Hsin the title of the hometown of Butter Puff Pastry.
