Nine Birds Pottery Workshop Introduction

In 2002, Teacher A-Liang established the Jiu Niao Ceramic Studio in Chih Hue, Taitung. The studio is named "Jiu Niao," which is a breakdown of the local place name "Xin Ban" (鳩). "Ceramic firing" seeks to emulate the renowned pottery cultures of Japan, such as Shino ware, allowing Jiu Niao Ceramics to have a rich legacy and be passed down through generations, much like these famous pottery creations. In addition to consistently delving into artistic creation and refinement every year, A-Liang and Teacher Xiazi of Jiu Niao Ceramics have also started their journey in ceramic education, opening the door to artistic creation for the public through organized workshops. Each year, through various collaborative proposals, they have begun to offer lifestyle ceramics, customized business products, public art projects, ceramic courses, DIY experiences, kiln culture tours, and the development of handmade decorative items. Visitors to the Jiu Niao Ceramic Studio will find exquisite, dark, shiny traditional Paiwan pottery, as well as small items from the "Deer Series," inspired by local place names like Chih Hue and Luye, which are suitable for holding business cards.
