Kuo's Family Original Spring Roll Introduction
At the Yong City God Temple, the Hsinchu City God Temple is a must-visit for food lovers. Not only are there plenty of delicious foods in front of the temple, but there are also many popular restaurants in the surrounding area. One of the highlights is #Guo Jia Yuan Zu Spring Roll, which has reportedly been in operation since the Japanese colonial period. This unassuming small shop has been passed down for five generations and is indeed a century-old establishment. Initially, it did not specialize in spring rolls but offered various snacks; it was only in the third generation that it began to focus solely on spring rolls, which is how the name came about. The freshly made spring roll wrappers are incredibly chewy, and the generous fillings include crunchy and sweet bean sprouts and chives, as well as essential ingredients such as ground peanuts, egg crepe, dried tofu, preserved vegetables, and a unique filling not found in other spring roll shops: #pork floss. The pork floss adds a refreshing flavor to the spring rolls without being greasy, allowing for a delightful taste that differs from the spring roll itself. Due to its abundant and reasonably priced fillings, it's a well-known local specialty snack in Hsinchu and a beloved culinary memory for the locals.
