Yah Jhen Restaurant Introduction
Chuan Cheng Jia Xiang Wei is an old restaurant specializing in soup located next to the east gate of Hsinchu Cheng Huang Temple, now run by the second generation of #YaZhenHao GeGeGeng. It is one of the must-visit delicacies in the Cheng Huang Temple commercial area. Many locals have grown up eating “GeGeGeng,” sitting with family and friends at the small stall, where the deliciousness remains timeless. This bowl of “GeGe” must be the thick consistency after being thickened, as said in Taiwanese! The ingredients include fish thick soup, meat thick soup, squid, and meat floss. The meat floss is made from pork belly coated in sweet potato flour and deep-fried, providing a crispy texture that pairs excellently with the thick soup. This is a unique flavor of YaZhenHao. The soup base is very sweet, leaving you wanting more after you’ve eaten! In addition to the signature GeGeGeng, the restaurant also offers Hsinchu meatballs, fried rice noodles, and more. Besides its attractive color, aroma, and taste, the most distinctive feature is the second-generation owner, Mei Zhi, whose warm smile always makes dining customers feel at home.
